Eight Mansions Calculator

In Eight Mansions (Ba Zhai) the house is read in eight compass sectors of 45° each. The side opposite the facing, the sitting, gives the house its trigram. From the trigram come the eight stars, known as the Wandering Stars: four favorable and four unfavorable, one for each sector. Then there are the people who live in it. With your Life Star the calculator finds your Ming Gua and compares it with the house: East Group or West Group.

Eight sectors, eight stars: a house takes its name from where it sits.

The facing

Use the degrees read on the compass (magnetic north), from 0 to 359. Measure the facing of the house, away from cars and metal objects.

The Life Star is your Destiny Number: if you don't know it, find it with mgc.
